Workflow Migration Inventory Builder

Scenario

Use before exporting, importing, upgrading, or changing the hosting environment of a workflow.

Input and output

Input is a redacted JSON workflow with name, optional version, nodes, and connections. Output contains node type counts, stable node keys, credential reference names, environment placeholder names, connection count, and inventory_hash.

Execution

Run python scripts/build_inventory.py --input examples/input.json --output examples/output.json. Keep exports limited to structures the buyer is authorized to inspect.

Recovery and acceptance

Malformed JSON or missing nodes returns a nonzero exit and a visible reason. The normal example produces a non-empty hash and stable counts. This is an inventory only; it does not export, import, activate, or back up a workflow.

Privacy boundary

Remove secret values, cookies, private payloads, local paths, and real endpoint values before execution. Reference names are retained only to support later reconnect planning.
